What to Expect when Selling Your Home

Posted on: April 21st, 2014 by Kris Sherry

You have just put your home on the market and you are wondering what will happen next and what it might mean.

If your home is well priced for today’s market, you should have a lot of showings in the first couple of weeks (8-12)- and an offer.  If you don’t have a lot of showings, your home is, in all likelihood, priced too high.

If you are getting lots of showings but no offers, then you need to look at the feedback with your agent and determine what the buyers are telling you. The problem may be the condition of the house or some specific aspect.  Perhaps the carpets need to be replaced or the home is badly in need of painting.  Many people in today’s world aren’t interested in DIY projects – they want a home that is move-in ready.

The inventory of homes for sale is growing every day so there is lots of competition out there.  You have to make your home stand out in the crowd.  A  well priced home that shows really well is usually a winning combination.
